Master Instructor & Course Director

MASTER INSTRUCTOR

This internship will be tailored to meet your needs for a successful Master Instructor or Course Director application. We will develop your teaching experience and certifications, comfort with staffing IDCs, business plan development, introduction to important PADI staff and departments and Course Director application assessment. Minimum prerequisite is staff instructor.

Course Director

PADI Course Directors are PADI Master Instructors who have taken the next step and joined an elite group of instructor trainers. Course Directors teach PADI Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) and other instructor-level training, and thus are the scuba diving industry’s most influential leaders and role models. This rating is the highest and most respected professional rating in recreational scuba diving.

COURSE DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS

✔ You must be certified to Master Instructor level to enroll on this course
✔ Have a high continuing education ratio
✔ Effective business plan for IDC development
✔ Productive relationship with PADI office
✔ Be fit for diving and submit a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
✔ Have proof of CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months (The Emergency First Responder course meets this requirement)

MASTER INSTRUCTOR

PADI Master Instructors are recognized as elite scuba diving educators who, through dedication and hard work, have proven to be dive industry leaders. You earn the Master Instructor rating by exemplifying what it means to be a scuba diving professional through your teaching efforts and professional conduct.

MASTER INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS

✔ Have issued at least 150 certifications including 50 continuing education certifications with at least 5 rescue, 5 Divemaster, 15 specialties
✔ You must have staffed 2 entire IDCs
✔ Participated in 3 PADI seminars
✔ Demonstrate support of PADI’s efforts in aquatic conservation
✔ Be fit for diving and submit a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
✔ Have proof of CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months (The Emergency First Responder course meets this requirement)
